A busy tent community is
set up in the center of a huge hayfield in the center of one
of the most picturesque valleys in the North Carolina mountains
during the peak of the fall color season. In addition to crafts,
guests can enjoy homemade Brunswick Stew, fresh pressed apple
cider and hot-out-of-the-kettle apple butter. (Photo

Fires
are started at 4 a.m. on Fair day to begin cooking down apples,
sugar and spices into thick, sweet apple butter. The signature
flavor of the Fair, the Apple Butter Boys will be filling
jars with hot apple butter by 1 pm. (Photo
